A Albiome, a French multinational operating in Brazil in the energy sector since 2014, announced the construction of new DG (distributed generation) projects in Brazil with the aim of add 100 MWp of solar photovoltaic generation to your portfolio. Currently, the company has 31.6 MWp.

In the press, the company informed that it signed an umbrella contract for the supply of 50 MWp in equipment, including a national tracker model eligible for financing by development banks. Also according to the company, the new projects will be built in order to comply with the regulatory interconnection deadlines set out in Law 14,300/2022.

And to achieve the investment target in the Brazilian market, Albioma has been counting on the work, since the beginning of the year, of the financial consultancy of Watt Capital in the analysis of GD I type projects in specific geographies.

Christiano Forman, CEO of Albioma, explains that the areas of interest for making new projects viable are the concession areas of:

  • Energisa Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul;
  • Enel Ceará;
  • COELBA;
  • CEMIG, only in the SUDENE area;
  • Equatorial Piauí, in particular, close to São João do Piauí; It is
  • CELPE, preferably close to São João do Belmonte.

According to him, in these areas, Albioma is interested in evaluating any project from 1 MW onwards.

According to Eduardo Tobias, managing partner of Watt Capital, it is essential to enable clusters to capture economies of scale in the implementation and management of future assets, given that the projects are individually small. For this reason, Albioma seeks projects close to its operational photovoltaic and bioenergy plants in the states of Goiás, São Paulo, Pernambuco and Piauí, but also blocks of projects that enable new clusters.
