The photovoltaic market is among the sectors that should boost the recovery of the Brazilian economy in the post-pandemic period. This was the main highlight of Solar Talks “Solar energy market, what can we learn in this challenging scenario?”. The online event held on World Environment Day (5) by distributor Aldo Solar was attended by Canal Solar and more than 1,700 people.
“We are absolutely ready from now on. We are monitoring, every day, the expectations of an increase in projects, installations, the evolution of sales and there will be no shortage of product at all”, highlighted Aldo about the resumption of the solar sector.
For Ronaldo Koloszuk, president of ABSOLAR (Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy), Solar Talks explored issues relevant to the solar sector and brought optimism to professionals in the photovoltaic sector. “The webinar was spectacular, very rich in content, bringing quality information on cyclical issues, on economic issues, on sectoral issues, with new technologies, mainly off-grid, and on regulatory and governmental issues.”
“We have signs that the worst is over and the sector is starting to show positive signs and these signs should gradually intensify in the coming weeks until we return to pre-covid levels,” added Koloszuk.
The event also featured the participation of Jinko Solar's general manager for Latin America, Alberto Cuter, who commented on the international recovery. “China was the first country to close, for two months, and now, in the third quarter of the year, it is the country with the largest photovoltaic market. I think this will happen with Brazil. When Covid passes, the Brazilian market will continue to be one of the most important distributed generation markets in the world”, highlighted Cuter.
Also during the event, ABSOLAR's GD vice-president, Bárbara Rubim, commented on the Bills currently being discussed in the Legislature. “There is a strong predisposition from Congress for the matter to be resolved via a law and not via a normative resolution, but the reality we have today is that Congress is only looking at issues related to the pandemic and post-pandemic. As an association, we have maintained constant dialogue with parliamentarians”, he clarified.
Barbara also commented on the progress of the review of REN 482. “ANEEL has signaled that it is willing to wait for Congress to resolve the matter. My perspective is that by the beginning of next year, we will have a solution to the issue”, he stated.
