A Aldo Solar this week received the arrival of a new shipment of photovoltaic modules of the international market and equalized the price of equipment to those already in the stocks of its distribution centers.

“It is an average price, an equalization of the price we had in stock with the arrival of new materials. In other words, it was internalized and became a single stock”, said Thiago Varanda, the company’s commercial director.

As a result, the executive informed that the company already is selling photovoltaic kits at a more competitive price in Brazil. “We are talking about discounts of up to 15% on the value of kits. It is a very large volume of subsequent modules and a very aggressive amount of discounts”, he said.

Currently, the Aldo Solar only works with modules, inverters and other photovoltaic equipment from manufacturers with a Triple A quality seal. “We are bringing a financial solution to the customer. In other words, bringing aggressive prices with high quality products”, he commented.

Between the solar modules offered by the company are equipment from JA Solar and Jinko Solar, with powers that vary from 465 W to 575 W. In inverters, the company has equipment provided by companies such as Growatt and Daye.

Balcony explains that all products are now available for immediate delivery throughout the national territory, with a diverse range of options for customers, such as hybrid solutions, for off-grid and on-grid systems, batteries and even vehicle chargers.

Should module prices rise in 2023?

The dynamics of the solar market are being shaken by a sharp drop in the prices of solar panels from Chinese companies over the last year. One of the most recent reports from Wood Mackenzie reveals that, in December, the average price of these panels reached just US$ 0.15/W.

In 2024, however, these values reduced even further, which led many integrators and professionals in the solar sector to wonder how the price of the technology should behave throughout the year.

According to Varanda, the answer to this question is not simple, as it depends on a series of factors. However, for now, the executive believes in a rise in prices in February.

“What we understand is that the cost of production is already at a level it has never been before. So, companies already know that there is no longer any way to have a big drop,” he said.

According to Aldo's commercial director, among equipment suppliers, there is already a prospect of a price increase in February, largely due to the arrival of Chinese new year, which historically tends to increase the cost of equipment on the international market.

“This morning (Tuesday), I had some meetings with suppliers. Of the three, two said that they are already projecting increases next month, mainly due to Chinese New Year. In other words, it is a reading by those who are at the root of production”, he highlighted.
