Changes to RN 482 will only come into force in 2021

The news was well received by energy consumers and workers in the solar energy sector

The general director of ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) stated that the changes to RN 482 will only come into force in 2021. The statement was made by André Pepitone this Friday, 12/06/2019, in an interview with a media outlet communication.

Pepitone declared that the transition will be made gradually and that “when the rule is approved, as was done with other resolutions, it has a deadline to come into force — and this deadline should be 01/01/2021.”

Pepitone also spoke about other important points. Among them, the maintenance of current rules for those who have already installed their Distributed Generation systems. According to the general director of ANEEL, the current rules must be maintained for 25 years for these consumers.

Highlight was also given to consumer exchanges in solar energy cooperatives and consortiums already in operation, “another claim for which we are very sensitive is the so-called portability or consumer exchange in solar energy consortia and cooperatives, which initially was prohibited, but there is already a sensitivity to accept the exchange of these consumers so that the economic fluidity of that arrangement is allowed”.

The news was well received by energy consumers and workers in the solar energy sector. However, expectations remain in the air to see these statements formalized in the text of the resolution. Furthermore, according to Pepitone, the estimated deadline for publishing the changes to RN 482 is the first quarter of 2020.
