All Brazilian consumers connected to the SIN (National Interconnected System) will have a green flag in June, according to a statement released by ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency). With the green flag, which indicates favorable conditions for energy generation, there is no additional charge to the tariff.
This is the second green flag announcement made by the Agency since the end of the Water Scarcity Flag, established by CREG (Chamber of Exceptional Rules for Hydroenergy Management), in force from September 1, 2021 to April 15.

During this period, ANEEL remained responsible for establishing the tariff flag for beneficiaries of the Social Electricity Tariff, not included among consumers who paid the Water Scarcity Flag. For consumers benefiting from the social tariff, the tariff flag has been green since December 2021.
Update of tariff flag values
A study is underway to evaluate the updating of tariff flag values in the country. Public Consultation No. 012/2022, referring to the annual update of additional fees and tariff flag activation bands, was open for contributions from society until May 4th. Currently, the contributions received in the consultation are being analyzed by the Agency.
