According to ANEEL, “the items that had the greatest impact on the calculations were the removal of financial components from the previous process (June 2022), inclusion of financial components determined in the current tariff process, in addition to costs with sector charges, energy transportation, acquisition of energy and distribution”.
Tariff review x tariff adjustment
The Periodic Tariff Review (RTP) is the most complex process and takes place every four years and has the purpose of evaluating and maintaining the concessionaire's economic balance. It defines efficient distribution costs; quality and energy loss targets; and the X Factor components for the tariff cycle.
The Annual Tariff Adjustment (RTA) updates electricity tariffs and Parcel B by the excessive growth established in the contract (IGP-M or IPCA) minus the X factor (IGP-M/IPCA – X Factor). The two reviews are the two most used tariff processes in concession contracts.
