The leading role of renewable sources in energy transition was one of the highlights of Camila Bonfim's speech, deputy general director of ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency), during the opening panel of the Enase 2022.
Camila participated in the first panel of the event, which aimed to discuss the sector governance challenges for the coming years.
During her speech, Camila highlighted the Agency's agenda related to renewable sources, which includes the regulation of the rules applicable to DG (distributed generation) and the constrained-off of photovoltaics and hydroelectric plants.
“Our efforts to modernize the sector include several measures, such as new forms of remuneration for ancillary services, the insertion of storage systems, the improvement of the tariff methodology for consumers served at low voltage (Tariff Sandboxes), and the improvement of rules that bring greater security to the free market, in discussion with CCEE”, pointed out Camila.
ANEEL's deputy general director also discussed expectations for the future of the electricity sector from the regulator's perspective. “Modernization is the way for the electricity sector to continue growing, adapted to new technologies, ensuring an active role for the new consumer, with fairer tariffs and quality service provision.”
Also participating in the panel were Marisete Pereira Dadald, Executive Secretary of the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy); Thiago Barral, president of EPE (Energy Research Company); Rui Altieri, president of the CCEE Board of Directors (Electric Energy Trading Chamber) and; Luiz Carlos Ciocchi, general director of ONS (National Electrical Sector Operator).
Promoted by Canal Energia, the event started on Wednesday (8) and ends this Thursday (9). The objective is to promote debates related to the future of the sector and the prospects for the coming years.
