ANEEL approves results of Auction A-4 for six projects

A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) approved The approval of the Auction result New Energy A-4 for six of the 29 winning ventures of the contest – which is intended for contracting energy from new generation projects. 

Held on May 27th, the auction ended with the contracting of 237.5 average MW, 39% of which are hydroelectric plants; 32% of photovoltaic and wind plants, and 29% of biomass thermoelectric plants (BIO).

According to the Agency, the projects have approximately 950MW of installed capacity It is planned investments of around R$ 7 billion. A energy hired will meet the demand from distributors: Cemig; Coelba to Light.

A approval includes photovoltaic plants Belmonte 11, 14 and 21, in addition to three small hydroelectric plants. In September, ANEEL confirmed the qualification of 20 contracted projects, which means that three winning projects are now left to be ratified.
