The City of Aparecida de Goiânia (GO) will hold a public hearing this afternoon (18), starting at 2pm, with the aim of discussing the installation of a solar energy generation park in the municipality.

The idea is to install the plant through a PPP (Public Private Partnership) – a mechanism provided for by law, which allows the public sector to enter into agreements with private entities to jointly carry out a certain service or work of interest to the population.

According to the project, the installation of the plant will require an area of approximately 100 thousand square meters. The location will be defined later, depending on the availability of public areas in the city.

The expectation is that the works will begin within 120 days after the conclusion of the tender. In total, the plant is expected to provide the city with savings of around R$ 150,000 per month. Further details about the plant have not yet been revealed.

According to the administration, a study for the installation of the project is ready to be presented during the public hearing, which will be held in the Multipurpose Space of the Maguito Vilela Administrative City, with individuals and legal entities, subject to registration and the capacity of the location.
