TV presenter bets on solar energy

Fabian Londero, journalist at NSCTV, highlights the savings obtained after installing a photovoltaic system at home

“It is energy that comes from the Sun, totally sustainable, and with savings on your pocket”, highlights journalist Fabian Londero, when celebrating the photovoltaic panels that were installed at his residence in Florianópolis (SC).

Presenter and editor of NSCTV, he identified the advantages of generating sustainable energy and made the decision to bring it into the home.

To meet the family's daily energy needs, the journalist installed 12 340 W photovoltaic panels on the roof of the house, as well as a 3 K Plus inverter.

“Through this renewable source, it is possible to meet the energy demand consumed by the home’s electrical equipment,” explains Jederson de Abreu, from the Technical Support team at Renovigi Energia Solar.

A renewable energy enthusiast, Londero reveals that one of the reasons for the installation was his concern for the environment, but another purpose of the system is to save energy and reduce costs. “I've already done the calculations, and the return time on my investment will be just four and a half years, in addition to having a 12-year guarantee”, reinforces Londero.

According to Jederson de Abreu, from Renovigi's Technical Support team, many confuse the solar energy structure with solar heating. This is because solar heating plates, usually black in color, look similar to photovoltaic modules. And both are usually installed on the roofs of homes.

“Solar heating is responsible for heating the water used in the residence, such as a swimming pool or shower. As a photovoltaic system, it generates electrical energy through solar radiation, which falls on the photovoltaic modules, those blue panels, generally installed on the roof. Through this renewable source, it is possible to meet the energy demand consumed by the home's electrical equipment,” explained Jederson.

The journalist describes some of the advantages of generating your own energy: “[Our system] captures energy from the sun and generates electrical energy, returning the surplus to Celesc [Centrais Elétricas de Santa Catarina, the company responsible for supplying energy in the region] , since there is now energy left. On my electricity bill, I only pay taxes, since I am producing even more than I consume in my home.”

The photovoltaic system will generate even more benefits for Londero, as explained by Nilson Carvalho de Souza, director of SA Engenharia, the company responsible for the project, installation and documentation. “Now we are going to register Fabian’s property for tax exemption, which is a right provided by law in the state for those who generate energy”, he highlights.
