The state of Bahia continues to grow when it comes to solar energy generation. In addition to contributing 36% of photovoltaic energy in the country, according to data from the SDE (Secretariat for Economic Development), the state also has the most efficient solar plants in Brazil.

A survey carried out by CCEE (Electric Energy Commercialization Chamber), compiled by ePowerBay, a marketplace platform for the development and commercialization of renewable energy projects, showed that, among the 10 solar parks with the highest performance, the first and second placed are located in Bahia.

O wind and solar operational ranking, referring to the month of February, showed that the most efficient solar park was Verde Vale III, owned by Astra Investimentos, with a FC (correction factor) of 30.47%. Next comes the Assuruá park, also from the same company, with FC of 30.11%.

According to ePowerBay, 113 solar parks totaling 2,941 GW were in operation in February. Furthermore, the average FC of the top 10 was 29.02%, with all of them operating above 28.58%.

Considering wind farms, there were 619 totaling 15.526 GW. The average FC of the 10 parks was 48.85%, all of which operated above 47.36%. Those that achieved the best performance are located in the states of Rio Grande do Sul (8) and Bahia (2).

Successful projects

The Verde Vale III parks, which have an installed capacity of 15 MW, and Assuruá, with 30 MW, used Weidmuller solutions and stood out in the solar energy market with the two most efficient photovoltaic plants in Brazil.

“In these two projects we supplied 1,500 V string boxes. For Weidmuller it is a global milestone, as they are solar plants with greater efficiency. We always value the quality of our products that are delivered in Brazil and around the world”, said Wagner Ogura, Energy Market Manager at Weidmuller.
