A BayWare, German company in the renewable energy and photovoltaic distribution sector, continued its expansion in the Americas with the opening of a new solar distribution center in Medellín, Colombia.

According to the company, this center will play a fundamental role in providing complete systems for residential and commercial installations, ranging from modules and inverters to batteries.

The opening of this distribution center in Colombia represents an important milestone in BayWa re Solar Trade's strategy, which aims to promote the adoption of solar energy in Latin America and simplify access to its products and services in the region.

The choice of Colombia as the next step in BayWa re Solar Trade's regional expansion comes after the acquisition of Ribeiro Solar in Brazil.

According to the company, the Colombia is a favorable environment for your business, considering the rapid growth of the photovoltaic industry in the country, its energy potential and the constant interest of solar brands and installers in the region.

Furthermore, BayWa re Solar Trade has ambitious plans to serve other countries in the Americas, starting with Peru and Ecuador, and intends to use the facilities in Colombia as a strategic distribution center for the entire region.

Our goal is to support the development of the solar industry in Colombia by improving access to technology and providing ongoing skills training for solar installers”, highlighted Andrés González, Director of BayWa re Solar Trade México.

This move by BayWa re is considered excellent news for Colombia and Antioquia, where Medellín is located. Investments like this are seen as an opportunity to increase competitiveness, promote regional development and support the transition to clean energy, aligning with the National Government's efforts towards sustainable industrial growth.

BayWare Solar Trade's new distribution center in Colombia officially began operations on Tuesday (3). The inauguration ceremony was attended by special guests, including representatives from the Medellín Cooperation and Investment Agency and ProColombia.

The facilities occupy an area of 500 square meters in the Alcântara Industrial Complex, Itagüí, while the offices are located in the Cortezza Building, in the capital of Antioquia.

“The arrival of BayWa re is excellent news for Colombia and Antioquia. These types of investments are exactly what we seek to increase competitiveness and promote development in our regions. This represents a vote of confidence from investors that aligns with the efforts and objectives of the National Government in support of the transition to clean energy, the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and the sustainable industrial growth of our country”, stated Carmen Caballero, President of ProColombia .

BayWa re Solar Trade also participated in ExpoSolar Colombia, the second largest solar industry fair in Latin America and the Caribbean, held from October 4th to 6th in Medellín, at the Plaza Mayor International Convention and Exhibition Center.

The event was attended by company executives from Colombia and Mexico, as well as technical and commercial professionals and specialists from manufacturing brands. ExpoSolar Colombia will offer training, technical presentations and product demonstrations.
