This week, module prices temporarily stabilized, according to a survey by Infolink Consulting. For 182mm PERC monofacial modules, prices settled at RMB 0.9-1.03/W, approaching RMB 0.92-0.93/W for new orders.
Some module manufacturers have prices below RMB 0.9/W or even RMB 0.85/W on the table. For 210mm PERC monofacial modules, prices were between RMB 1.03-1.1/W, reaching RMB 0.95-1/W for new orders.
According to the consultancy, the price difference between 182mm and 210mm modules will gradually narrow after orders are completed and will slowly decrease in the future.
TOPCon module prices ranged from RMB 0.9/W to RMB 1.18/W. Previous orders were delivered at RMB 1.08-1.18/W this week.
Module manufacturers have started receiving orders at RMB 0.98-1.05/W, potentially RMB 0.97-0.98/W. Negotiations for next year's orders have seen price quotes of RMB 0.9/W, even RMB 0.88/W.
HJT panel prices remained stagnant due to cost concerns and the still developing market. Prices currently range from RMB 1.25/W to RMB 1.35/W in China, while remaining stable at USD 0.160-0.170/W in markets outside China.
Cell prices show a slight drop
P-cell prices continued to fall this week, falling 4-5% compared to last week. The trading prices of M10 cells fell from last week's low price range, mainly at RMB 0.38/W. G12 cells were traded at RMB 0.43/W after continuous price reductions.
For N-type M10 cells, conventional prices fell slightly to RMB 0.48-0.49/W this week. G12 HJT cells, mainly for internal use and less for external sales, were priced at 0.65-0.7 RMB/W for high-efficiency cells.
Due to the continuous decline in demand for PERC 182mm products, the price difference between n-type and p-type cells has increased, reaching RMB 0.1/W.
According to Infolink, on Wednesday (13) cell M10 was being priced at RMB 0.45/W. Also according to the consultancy, with the drop in wafer prices, the prices of M10 TOPCon cells could fall even further next week.
Regarding stock, Infolink reported that stock levels vary between different cell manufacturers. Some have observed a slow increase in inventory, particularly of PERC skies, while some have maintained inventory levels within a week of production due to drastic production cuts.
Due to low profitability, most manufacturers have reduced production of 182mm PERC cells. Other manufacturers modify production lines to 183.75mm rectangular cells, for which they believe market demand remains. Several manufacturers have closed outdated PERC production lines to avoid cash losses.
“The lack of profitability across the sector leads manufacturers to come up with varied strategies and decisions. Some have reduced or closed production, while others use their cash reserves to sustain production and compete for market share”, assessed Infolink
