A solar energy closed the month of January in style: reaching the brand of 17 GW of installed power in systems distributed micro and minigeneration in Brazil, according to data from ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).

It is a volume that represents practically double of the country's accumulated power compared to the same period last year, when the segment, until then, is close to reaching the 9 GW mark.

At the moment, Brazil counts on the segment of G.D. (distributed generation) with more than 1.63 million photovoltaic systems connected to the grid, bringing savings and environmental sustainability to more than 2.12 million UCs (consumer units).

Among consumer classes, residential is the one that presents the higher volumes of installed power, with 8.37 GW, followed by commercial (4.83 GW), rural (2.48 GW) and industrial (1.13 MW).

A in-house generation method accounts for 13.12 GW; remote self-consumption appears with 3.79 GW; shared with 93.9 MW and multiple consumer units with 6.89 MW.

Already the leading states in the segment are: Minas Gerais, with around 2.37 GW, followed by São Paulo (2.29 GW), Rio Grande do Sul (1.90 GW), Paraná (1.65 GW) and Mato Grosso (0. 97 GW) in the top five positions.
