The year 2024 is just beginning and the Brazil ended the month of January with new records registered in the solar energy, second data from ONS (National Electric System Operator).

The entity's figures show that, in Tuesday last week (30), the source reached the first instant record of the year in the SIN (National Interconnected System).

On this day, the generation reached the milestone of 27,909 MW, at 11:40 am, sufficient amount to meet the 30.4% of demand in that minute from all over Brazil.

You indicators already include the production of distributed micro and minigeneration. The previous record, also considering the modality, was reached on November 11, 2023, when 27,435 MW were registered.

Yet in the same week of January, O Northeast subsystem registered unprecedented rates of instantaneous solar generation: 9,231 MW, measured at 11:18 am, on the 31st.

The volume corresponded to 66.8% of the submarket's demand at the time. The highest mark until then was 9,035 MW, registered on January 18, 2024.

February

At the February 2nd, O Brazil surpassed the brand of 38 GW of installed capacity in solar energy, considering the GC (centralized generation) and DG (distributed generation) segments.

At the moment, more than 16.8% of the Brazilian electrical matrix comes from solar energy, according to information shared by ABSOLATE (Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association), and corroborated by ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).
