The main companies in the energy storage segment created ABSAE (Brazilian Association of Energy Storage Solutions) with the main objective of accelerating the battery market in Brazil.

The association is structured around three main agendas: dissemination of information about the segment, encouragement of the regulatory framework and encouragement and adoption of public policies.

The association was founded by four companies: Micropower, Baterias Moura, Newcharge and UCB. ABSAE was presented to the market this Wednesday, during Intersolar South America 2023, with the aim of sharing this initiative and inviting more companies in the sector to join.

The president of ABSAE, Markus Vlasits, highlighted the importance of energy storage for the safety of the electrical system, the decarbonization of the electrical matrix and reasonable tariffs.

He also highlighted the need to encourage investments in this area and the adoption of public policies that guarantee the competitiveness of the energy storage segment.

“In addition to the pre-established objectives, such as the discussion of public policies for the sector and the regulatory framework, ABSAE will also focus on the training and qualification of future energy storage professionals,” he said.

With the creation of ABSAE, member companies hope to boost the development of the energy storage sector in Brazil, contributing to the transition to a more sustainable and efficient energy matrix.
