A BYD, which already studies and develops products with N-Type HJT technology, announced something new for the solar sector: the manufacturer will produce a new module with N-Type TOPCon technology.

According to the company, the launch comes complement the current line of BYD panels, available on the Brazilian market.

The new module brings 575W power, with one efficiency up to 22.2%, has an optimized temperature coefficient of -0.32%/°C (P-Type 0.39%/°C) and the same dimensions as a 540 W panel, as well as better bifaciality (2%).

Another point highlighted is that it presents less annual degradation (1% in the first year and 0.4% in the remaining useful life compared to current modules).

“We will be the first national company to produce this type of model in Brazil. This shows the great pioneering spirit of BYD, a company that is always bringing cutting-edge technology to the country”, said Marcelo Taborda, Sales Director at BYD Energy do Brasil.

Production of the 575 W N-Type TOPCon panel will take place in factory in Campinas (SP), starting in December. It was reopened in April this year with state-of-the-art equipment.

According to BYD, the production line and processes were completely renewed, adopting the highest technology available in Brazil and abroad, for example, multi-busbar, half-cell, 1/3 cut cell, micro-gap and negative-gap.

The new line also allowed the factory to become Compatible with all dimensions of photovoltaic cells currently available on the market. Therefore, it is now possible to laminate and encapsulate conventional or double-glass modules.

Another noteworthy fact is that the expansion of production processes allowed the company triple its capacity to reach 0.5 GW, enough to supply a city with 750 thousand inhabitants.

“Our company is a global giant in new energy and electromobility. We dream of a zero-emission ecosystem for the entire world and we are happy to contribute, once again, to our market, with the start of production of a new, unprecedented and high-tech photovoltaic module”, commented Tyler Li, president of BYD Brasil.

“We are considered one of the main groups focused on research and development of sustainable technologies in Latin America and who invest more in new processes and equipment in the Brazilian market”, reported Rodrigo Garcia, R&D manager at BYD Energy do Brasil.

"The new 575W N-Type TOPCon module was developed in Brazil, by Brazilian engineers, specifically for our sector”, concluded Garcia.
