In order to meet growing market demands, BYD announced that it is expanding its production capacity to launch photovoltaic modules with higher rated power.

According to the manufacturer, the new panels, which have a power of 450 W and an efficiency of 20.9%, are recommended for residential systems, agribusiness solutions, businesses, industries and off-grid generation.

“This launch shows how committed BYD is to expanding its participation in the solar energy segment in Brazil. The company also invests in research and innovation to create more efficient products adapted to the Brazilian climate reality”, highlighted Adalberto Maluf, Director of Marketing and Sustainability at BYD.

To start manufacturing solar panels with 450 W, the production of polycrystalline modules model/family P6K, 335 W, and monocrystalline model/family M7K, 395 W, will be reduced, as reported by Solar Channel last Monday (16).

In a statement, the company stated that, to avoid any type of inconvenience caused by the lack of product for projects that are in the approval and/or negotiation phase, it increased the stock of these panels, allowing partners to issue new purchase orders by August 31st for the P6K family and until September 30th for the M7K family.

Expansion

BYD recorded growth of more than 40% in the sales of modules in the second half of 2020. Because of this, in the first half of this year, opened another shift at its factory, hiring around 60 new employees.
