More and more alternatives aimed at sustainability are being implemented in the urban mobility market. This time, the BYD launched the new version of the Furgão eT3 in Brazil.  According to the manufacturer, the vehicle has innovative technology and features with greater profitability.

The new version features a new battery pack, which reduced the vehicle's weight from 1870 kg to 1700 kg.  Other new features highlighted by the manufacturer are the speed limitation of up to 100 km/h, bringing more safety and greater autonomy, and the DC recharging system, faster and more stable. Furthermore, with a range of up to 300 km and the possibility of recharging the battery from 20% to 80% in 30 minutes – which guarantees up to 180 km more travel – the model has a capacity for 720 kg of cargo and space in the compartment for 3.3 thousand liters.

“We currently have more than 50 vehicles in operation in Brazil. By the end of the year we aim for this fleet to triple across the country”, said Henrique Antunes, BYD Sales Director. According to the executive, one factor that draws attention is the operational value.

“The BYD eT3 Van guarantees greater accuracy in cost forecasting. This is because the price of electrical energy does not vary on a large scale, as occurs with fuels in general”.  Adalberto Maluf, director of Marketing and Sustainability at the manufacturer, reinforced that this is a new experience with unique facilities and resources that will make deliveries faster, more productive, economical, silent and with zero pollutant emissions.

Companies adopt electric vans

According to BYD, several companies committed to reducing greenhouse gases from their logistics processes have already put 100% electric vans into operation.  Pepsico, for example, is one of them.

For Ítalo Portes, Purchasing manager, the partnership with BYD helped to measure the environmental benefits of the product. “We can actually mitigate and eliminate all CO emissions2 gradually, as is the company’s plan.”

Corpus Saneamento e Obras also invested in green mobility and, after implementing BYD's 100% electric trucks to collect residential waste, acquired the eT3 van for collecting waste from healthcare services.

Another company that has adopted sustainability is Carbono Zero. “Our dream was to have a 100% electric vehicle and BYD was the natural choice as it was the first to offer a car with the dimensions we needed. The electric car, like the bicycle, works without emitting pollution and without noise”, explained Leonardo Lorentz, manager of the delivery company.
