Canadian Solar announces Alexandre Borin as commercial director

Manufacturer aims to offer complete solutions for the photovoltaic market

With a focus on promoting the Brazilian photovoltaic market, the manufacturer Canadian Solar expanded its catalog with the addition of single phase inverters, in addition to hiring Alexandre Borin as the company's new Commercial Director.

According to the company, the single-phase units will arrive on the market this month and sales will be stimulated along with the company's modules.

“The new line has some technical aspects, we are working with short currents higher. These inverters support Canadian's new line of series 6 and 7 modules that have higher currents”, explained Borin in an interview with Solar Channel.

“Another difference is that they bring the oversizing 50%. In the past, we worked with 30%. And finally, another difference is the seven-year warranty extension for the entire range, the monos already had it. So, the three-phase ones, which previously had a five-year warranty, with the option of extending up to 20 years for all inverters”, he adds.

Borin also highlighted that the company's positioning, from now on, will be to bring a complete solution to the customer, aiming to facilitate logistics.

"A Canadian does not want to be a distributor. We will continue with the distributor channel, who will sell our kit. We provide technological solutions so that the end consumer does not need to buy modules, inverters and storage from three different manufacturers”, he adds.

Focus on inverters

Today, the manufacturer sees the modules as flagship for the photovoltaic market and highlights that the investment made in the inverter segment aims to accompany the growth of the solar sector, offering a complete solution.

“Modules are still Canadian’s strong point, but inverters are gaining ground and that’s why we’re going to come in strong. In addition to inverters, we also focus on battery containers for larger plants. Today we only think about injecting energy into the grid because it is more advantageous, but with the change in the law, it makes sense to have storage systems”, commented Borin.
