Canadian Solar, a Chinese-Canadian manufacturer of solar modules, signed two PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) contracts. One for the photovoltaic park built by the company itself in the state of Minas Gerais and another for a project in the state of Pernambuco. Total capacity will reach 274 MWp.

In MG, the company will develop and build a 152 MWp project. Work will begin in 2021 and is expected to reach commercial operation before the end of 2022. This is the first PPA signed directly between Canadian Solar and an industrial customer in Brazil, establishing a milestone for the company in this market. The PPA contract will be for 20 years.

The second solar energy purchase and sale contract, signed in Pernambuco, will include a solar park with an installed capacity of 122 MWp, which will be built in 2021. The PPA is for 15 years.

With these two operations, the manufacturer claims to add more than 1.9 GWp of PPA to its portfolio in Brazil and more than 2.6 GWp contracted in Latin America.
