A CCEE (Electricity Trading Chamber) was approved as a participant in the Global Compact of UN in Brazil, which promotes actions in the areas of Human Rights, Labor, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

One of the first steps of CCEE already integrating the initiative will be the strategic support for companies in the Brazilian electricity sector who are interested in first international renewable hydrogen auction, which will be carried out by the German H2Global in 2023. The proposals were sent in February and will be analyzed by the event organizer.

As a market operator and with access to all records of energy Purchase and Sale Agreements in Brazil, the Chamber will be able to grant the renewable energy certificate, a document that will attest to the product's sustainability requirements for investors.

“Our entry into this select team of companies and organizations in the Global Compact reinforces our commitment to actions to face society's challenges”, commented Rui Altieri, president of the CCEE Board of Directors.

“In addition to actions focused on renewable energy, with CCEE’s commitment to acting as an energy certifier for the market, the organization’s arrival at the UN Global Compact also took into account our Diversity & Inclusion and Gender Equality projects”, highlighted.
