As purpose in speed up O development of Brazilian H2R market (renewable hydrogen), the government of Ceará approved, this Wednesday (9), The accession to the Covenant Brazilian by Renewable Hydrogen, at the palace of Government of Ceará.
The agreement was signed with Abeeólica (Brazilian Association of Wind Energy and New Technologies); Abiogás (Brazilian Biogas Association); ABSOLAR (Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association); and AHK (Brazil-Germany Chamber).
The hearing was attended by Governor Elmano de Freitas; the Vice President of Investments and Green Hydrogen at ABSOLAR, Camila Ramos; the Director of Energy Transition and Sustainability at AHK Rio, Ansgar Pinkowski; and Abeeólica representatives Sandro Yamamoto and André Themoteo; in addition to the presence of Abiogás by Bruna Jardim Ribeiro.
“This pact reiterates Ceará’s pioneering spirit and commitment to strengthening green hydrogen production in our state. H2V is strategic for the country and decisive for the development of Ceará”, said Freitas.
“Creating political and social awareness is important for hydrogen to become a priority across the country. In green hydrogen, we have a sector that can leverage several other sectors. It's something unique for Ceará. After producing the first molecule, our goal now is to produce green hydrogen on a large scale. It’s a happy day for all of us”, he adds.
With the entry of the Government of Ceará into the Pact, several initiatives towards the development of renewable hydrogen must be thought of together.
Among them, the development of a regulatory framework for the segment, a new market for the application of renewable hydrogen, the promotion of socioeconomic development through the renewable hydrogen economy and hydrogen from renewable sources.
Furthermore, it was discussed how to disseminate renewable hydrogen opportunities to its members and society, making the economic viability of the production and use of renewable hydrogen in different ways possible.
“It was necessary for us to join forces in favor of the development of renewable energy as a whole. In this way, we hope to be able to influence the growth of green hydrogen in Brazil”, pointed out the Director of Energy Transition and Sustainability at AHK Rio.
Vice-president of the board of Absolar, Camila Ramos highlighted Ceará's pioneering spirit. “I am sure that we will work as soon as possible towards the growth and development of renewable hydrogen throughout Brazil”, he highlighted.
According to the Secretary of International Relations, Roseane Medeiros, the State Government's participation in the Renewable Hydrogen Pact is another sign for everyone that Ceará continues to advance in the area and is ready for the next steps.
“These partnerships within the energy transition area reinforce Ceará’s leading role, not only in Brazil, but also as another step towards becoming a global player in the area. Currently, when we talk about renewable hydrogen in the country, we think of Ceará. So, this adherence to the Pact is quite important”, he explained.
