A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) presented one tariff increase review proposal on electricity bills for consumers in the concession area of the Cemig (Companhia Energética de Minas e Energia), in a public hearing held on March 17, in Belo Horizonte.

O event counted on the participation of 60 participants and 14 exhibitors, including students, public servants and representatives of the energy distributor's consumer council. To the contributions can be sent by April 4th to the following emails:

According to Cemig data, the percentage increase for residential consumers – B1 will be 11.98% in their energy bill; high voltage customers will see an increase of 5.26%; and low voltage consumers a high average of 12,52%. The new rates will come into effect from May 28th.

Tariff review x tariff adjustment

The Periodic Tariff Review (RTP) is the most complex process and occurs every four years and has the purpose of evaluating and maintaining the economic balance of the concessionaire. It defines: efficient distribution cost; quality and energy loss targets; and the X Factor components for the tariff cycle.

The Annual Tariff Adjustment (RTA) updates electricity tariffs and Parcel B by the excessive growth established in the contract (IGP-M or IPCA) minus the X factor (IGP-M/IPCA – X Factor). The two reviews are the two most used tariff processes in concession contracts.
