Cemig SIM, the Cemig Group's energy solutions company, announced that it will receive investments of around R$ 1 billion by 2025. According to the company, the resources will be allocated to the development of new solar farm projects.

The objective, after this investment, is to increase the current installed capacity to 275 MWp. Furthermore, they have the prospect of reaching a market share of around 30%, with annual EBITDA (Profits Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization) at R$ 170 million.

“We believe that the future of the electricity sector involves an increase in the volume of distributed resources and intelligent systems. Therefore, it is strategic for the company to strengthen its operations in the DG (distributed generation) segment, or subscription solar energy”, highlighted Danilo Gusmão, CEO of Cemig SIM.

Currently, the company has a fleet of 11 photovoltaic farms in operation and plans to add another 7 in the first half of this year. In addition, it has around three thousand subscription solar energy customers in its portfolio, which have already reduced the emission of two tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

“With the strategic investment that begins now, we are confident that SIM’s product and service offering is complete and provides greater commercial opportunities for loyalty and long-term relationships for customers with the most varied needs”, concludes Gusmão.
