A CME (Mines and Energy Commission) from the Chamber of Deputies it will be chaired by parliamentarian Júnior Ferrari (PSD-PA), elected this Wednesday (13) for the position. 

You other positions of the commission were also decided: Hugo Leal (PSD-RJ), will be the 1st vice-president, Samuel Viana (Republicanos-MG), the 2nd vice-president and Carlos Veras (PT-PE) is the 3rd vice-president.

Ferrari stated that the commission is more important of the legislative house, for dealing with issues that directly impact the Brazilian economy. “We will conduct our work very ethically, with great responsibility and great transparency. We will respect the Internal Regulations and each parliamentarian”, he stated.

In 2023, the new president defended oil exploration at the mouth of the Amazon River.

Deputy profile

Ferrari is in his second term as federal deputy, previously he served as state deputy in Pará for four terms. In addition, he was president of the Legislative Assembly of Pará between 2012 and 2013.

CME work

The Mines and Energy Commission votes and discusses proposals on both mineral and energy policy. In addition to the regulation of both sectors, conventional and alternative energy sources, and the commercialization of energy resources, in addition to other issues in the area.
