ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency), approved on Tuesday (23), the Tariff Adjustment Company 2023 Annual Equatorial Alagoas. The news tariffs will enter force from the next Sunday (28)

According to data provided by Equatorial Alagoas, residential consumers will have 14.57% on their electricity bill; low voltage customers have a percentage of 15.05%; and high voltage consumers with the largest increase of 24.19%.

According to ANEEL, “The values were impacted, especially, by expenses related to financial components, in addition to costs with sectoral charges and energy costs.”

The company's electricity consumption currently represents an annual turnover of around R$ 2.43 billion.

See below the indices proposed by ANEEL.

Tariff review x tariff adjustment

The Periodic Tariff Review (RTP) is the most complex process and takes place every four years and has the purpose of evaluating and maintaining the concessionaire's economic balance. It defines: efficient distribution cost; quality and energy loss targets; and the X Factor components for the tariff cycle.

The Annual Tariff Adjustment (RTA) updates electricity tariffs and Parcel B by the excessive growth established in the contract (IGP-M or IPCA) minus the X factor (IGP-M/IPCA – X Factor). The two reviews are the two most used tariff processes in concession contracts.
