According to a study carried out by Greener, a consultancy and research company, the number of integrating companies dedicated exclusively to the solar energy sector increased in 2020 in Brazil.
The data showed that 42.3% of companies invested in this clean and sustainable technology, an increase of around 35% compared to the 30.9% that were recorded during 2019.
“This reflects the maturation of the photovoltaic DG (distributed generation) market, as the segment begins to gain more shape and entrepreneurs begin to produce more volume and become more structured. They see a relevant path in solar energy, often becoming the main business model, the main product”, said Márcio Takata, director of Greener.
“In the same way, it is important to highlight that 58% of companies still diversify their range of products, especially those that are newer in the segment, as many operate with products that differ to complete the portfolio – a measure that is also positive in terms of bringing greater diversification and less risk”, reported Takata.
Training courses
Another point highlighted by Greener's research is that courses face-to-face and online training provided by training companies are the main source of knowledge for working in the photovoltaic sector (64.4%).
Also according to the study, among the integrators that started their activities in 2020, online content made available by the market was also in high demand (27.2%).
Economy is the main motivation
According to the consultancy, most businesses that purchased photovoltaic systems indicated the economy as their main motivation (84%). In second place is sustainability (8%). Property appreciation and dissatisfaction with the energy concessionaire were also mentioned, but not among the main motivations.
About the search
In total, 1,579 integrators participated in the survey from November 25, 2020 to January 10, 2021. The study included a sample of companies from across the country, of all sizes and ages.
