To meet the growing demand for jobs in the solar energy sector, Brazil has increasingly offered training, mentoring and professional qualification programs. Proof of this were the more than 90 thousand jobs created by the sector in the last two years alone, according to data from ABSOLAR (Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association).

The distributor TenBrasil, for example, is one of the Brazilian companies that offers a mentoring program both for beginning professionals – who are starting their careers within the sector – and for students who already have greater experience in the sector, but are looking to update themselves. The program, called Method 10, is taught by professionals in the photovoltaic sector. Interested parties can register clicking here.

Another company that has also invested in professional qualification is Senai (National Industrial Learning Service). At the beginning of this month, the educational institution revealed that it will launch training courses for the solar sector in ten units in its education network.

These courses include, for example, PV system installer and renewable energy system design. The project has the support of ABSOLAR and each of the ten units received equipment donations through partnerships with companies in the sector.

Perspectives

The sum of new private investments in DG (distributed generation) and GC (centralized generation) is expected to exceed the R$ 22.6 billion mark and 147 thousand new jobs created in 2021, according to ABSOLAR projections.

Overall, the DG segment is expected to increase by 90%, while the GC market can expect an expansion of 37%. The association believes that by December this year there will be an accumulated total of 377 thousand jobs in the country since 2012, distributed among all the productive links in the market.
