O Brazil celebrates the arrival of Consumer Day this Friday (15), with three important classes of consumption who benefit from solar energy close to reaching symbolic and relevant brands at the distributed micro and minigeneration segment.

According to data from ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency), the commercial ventures, rural and industrial sector with photovoltaic systems will reach in the coming days the 8 GW, 4 GW and 2 GW brands of power in DG (distributed generation).

Adding all this volume to other consumer classes – such as residential and properties under the responsibility of the Public Power – the own energy generation through photovoltaic connections, it already totals almost 28 GW in the country.

Currently, solar energy also has 2.45 million plants of microgeneration and minigeneration distributed throughout the national territory and which together benefit more than 3.5 million UCs (consumer units).

A evolution of GD solar in Brazil raisin, mainly, the benefits offered by this modality, in different aspects. To the consumers, O segment has become an alternative to guarantee predictability and cost reduction in the electricity bill, in addition to contributing to the energy transition.

In relation to the national electrical system, the generation of Solar energy helps reduce transmission and distribution costs It is contributes to system security, in addition to using renewable sources that help to decarbonize the planet.

To celebrate the growth of the sector in the country, especially distributed generation on Consumer Day, the Solar Channel brings five cases of people and companies from different consumer classes that have embraced the benefits of solar energy and that show the multifaceted technology on the market.

Solar energy turbine sustainable home

In the city of Curitiba (PR), one solar energy project which went into operation in March 2019 and paid for itself helped a couple of residents from the Pinheirinho neighborhood to make your home even more sustainable.

O generator kit was purchased from Aldo Solar for one environmentally enthusiastic customer is that had already coupled in house one water heating system with copper plate and boiler before installing the photovoltaic system.

The water heated by the sun is used in showers, bathroom and kitchen taps, eliminating the need for electric taps and saving energy when taking a shower.

O The next step was to install solar energy. For this, a connection was made consisting of a 3kW SMA Single Phase Inverter It is 12 BYD 335W photovoltaic modules, totalizing 4.02 kWp.

At the time, the customer had a consumption of around 500 kWh and the system generated, average, around 350 kWh over the five years installed.

O system was scaled via software to position the modules in the best location on the roof and where there would be no shadows from the neighbor's wall and the wall of the house, since the modules were installed on the back roof.

O investment, in plain sight, was R$ 17 thousand reais. Today the customer invoice is around R$ 150.00 and, after the return on investment, now the residence has two air conditioning units, one in the living room and one in the bedroom to alleviate the heat.

Supermarket: even partners benefit from the source

More than six years ago, the Supermercados Faria chain decided to embrace the benefits of the solar source, with the installation of two 110 kWp plants to feed the brand's three commercial units, located in the interior of Minas Gerais.

O project, installed by Losango Solar Energy, he was enough not only to meet the demand from enterprises but was also designed so that energy credit surpluses could be used in homes from each one of the five company partners.

Heberton Caetano, one of the owners of Supermercado Faria, highlights that – with financial savings obtained by solar plants – it was possible to make structural improvements in network establishments, such as the expansion of cold chambers, for example.

Today, with the expansion of the units, Caetano explains that the current energy generation is no longer sufficient to meet the company's demand. Therefore, he explains that he and the other partners are already negotiating the installation of a hybrid system with storage.

The use of the system with batteries is goal not only meet new demand of enterprises, as well as ensuring that priority supermarket loads will work when there are drops in the network from Cemig (Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais).

Farm doubles soybean production with solar energy

In the municipality of Jaborandi (BA), the Madrugada Farm adopted the use of solar energy to improve the grain irrigation process and managed to double soybean production with the installation of three photovoltaic plants.

With investments of R$ 3.4 million, the property installed two irrigation pivots and an artesian well to supply a water reservoir, increasing productivity on site with an additional harvest per year.

O project was carried out by the company CGR Energia, with equipment by the distributor WIN Solar, including JA Solar 540W bifacial panels It is off-grid pumping inverter, in a total of 769 kWp.

Technologies allowed the production of solar energy by capturing direct radiation and radiation reflected by the ground.

Even if none of the three plants is connected to the utility's electrical grid, the power plant guarantees the use of pumps for up to ten hours a day, just with the sun's rays.

Industry: electricity bill drops from R$ 7 thousand to R$ 300.00

The natural products company in the pharmaceutical segment, Natural Herbs Natural Products, installed in Cachoeira de Itapemirim (ES), has been just four months using solar energy in its operations, but it already sees the difference in the energy bill at the end of the month.

The company has a 43.68 kWp installed system at the ceiling of the industry. The electricity supply is 5,000 kWh per month and the project was developed by Ecotop Energia Renovável.

Osmar Silva, the company's owner, says that investing in a photovoltaic plant for his business was the best choice he ever made, since the Electricity bill fell from R$ 7 thousand to R$ 300 per month.

The savings were so substantial that the businessman said he will install a new solar energy plant to the company's new unit.

"To the People have no idea about the economics of solar energy. It's a worthwhile investment. You can do your plan in installments or in cash and, in any situation, the return on investment is very quick”, he commented.

Did you really think politicians would be left out?

A Paulínia City Council (SP) received the installation of a carport, which came into operation in December 2022. The project was built on the roof of the parking lot at the legislative headquarters.

In total, investments were R$ 1.48 million in the project, that have 292 550 W photovoltaic modules from XPower It is two inverters of 100 kWp each. The estimated payback is approximately six years.

With the solar plant, which generated 352.21 MWh by February 2024, the Legislative House achieved savings of 50% on the monthly energy bill.

Before embracing the benefits of the solar source, the Council spent R$ 16 thousand per month with electrical energy and, at the moment, The average is R$ 8 thousand.

“Promoting sustainability and rationalizing public resources are pillars of the management of the Paulínia City Council, alongside transparency and the goal of offering excellent service to the population”, said Edilsinho Rodrigues, president of the Paulínia City Council.
