Esfera Energia, which operates with electricity management and commercialization, launched a project, called Esfera Energy Back, to enable the participation of Mercado Livre companies in the Voluntary Electricity Demand Reduction Program proposed by the Federal Government.

The government's initiative provides for the payment of financial compensation to companies that are willing to reduce consumption and reduce pressure on the SIN (National Interconnected System), which is facing the impacts of the biggest water crisis in the last 91 years.

Interested parties must qualify with the ONS (National Electric System Operator), offering a reduction in consumption of at least 5 MW for a period of four or seven consecutive hours within the timetable defined by the Operator.

“There may be consumers who are unable to reach the minimum reduction limit and, therefore, we launched Esfera Energy Back, which enables the participation of these consumers”, highlighted Braz Justi, CEO of Esfera Energia. “With this, these companies have the opportunity to reduce consumption at a time of rising electricity costs, with the added benefit of generating additional revenue. Directly, we all contribute to the management of a critical moment in the country”, he highlighted.

According to Raphael Santana, director of Energy Management at Esfera, it will act as a load aggregator. “We will be responsible for summing up the demands that make this participation viable and also for the entire qualification process of these companies with the ONS, the CCEE and for contact with energy distributors”.

Furthermore, Justi emphasized that Esfera Energy Black also offers the possibility of optimizing cash flow by anticipating the payment of cashback. “In other words, companies do not need to wait for the funds to be released by the CCEE.”  To participate in the program, you must register on this page. link, until this Friday (8).
