Company uses exoskeletons to install photovoltaic panels

Enel Green Power España, a unit of the Endesa group, is applying new technology to build three solar parks in Spain.

To install these plants, the company is using exoskeletons to facilitate the assembly of solar panels, which will make them light enough to be assembled by just one person, instead of two.

Furthermore, Endesa used integrated joints – joining systems for modules that allow faster anchoring of panels, thus facilitating their construction – and state-of-the-art surveillance and detection cameras.

According to the company, a 50 MW solar park will be built near Seville and two large-scale plants near Badajoz, in the south of the country. The Badajoz plants will have powers of 49.9 MW and 41.9 MW.

In total, there are around 500 workers involved in the construction of the three factories: 300 in Seville and 200 in Badajoz. Together, they will install around 390,000 solar modules.
