Enel Brasil launches game about climate challenges

The idea is for young students to acquire knowledge about the importance of renewables in the decarbonization process

Aiming to bring students closer to fundamental themes for a sustainable future, The Enel Brasil announced, on November 4th, the third edition of PlayEnergy, a global initiative of the company that this year brings a game for young people aged between 14 and 20 years

By June 2023, challenge participants will need to complete the missions that are part of the game, being able to conquer prizes of up to 1,000 euros.

According to the company, the idea is for young people to assimilate fundamental knowledge and concepts for the decarbonization process in a playful way, discovering how electrification from renewable energy sources can help combat climate change.

“We want to connect generation Z, who are the decision makers of tomorrow, to debates about the importance of effective actions to stop climate change”, comments Janaína Vilella, Communications director at Enel Brasil.

“Therefore, it is essential to alert this age group about the importance of the energy transition and disseminate values such as sustainability, renewable energy and electrification”, he highlights.

According to Enel, the game is told through a science fiction story, where the player will be an ally of a group called eLights (defenders of renewable energy), and must fight against the Firemasters, with the mission of saving the Earth from the effects of climate change.

The game consists of two seasons and 24 missions that must award about nine winners. Prizes range from 500 to 1,000 euros.

Game in schools

The gameplay will still be presented in ten schools in the states of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, from November. Promoted by Enel Brasil, the game is now available on the PlayEnergy website and platform.

The company also highlights its participation in games and entertainment events, such as Anime Fest Fan, in the city of Rio de Janeiro (RJ).
