Americanas announced that it will inaugurate two photovoltaic plants by June this year, expanding its production to 30%. portion of energy consumed from renewable sources.
In total, 70 physical stores, located in Pernambuco and the Federal District, will benefit from clean and economical electricity generation.
“The significant cost savings, combined with energy efficiency, reinforces the idea that this connection is possible and profitable”, highlighted Carlos Padilha, director of Investor Relations and Sustainability at Americanas.

The company's energy efficiency program has existed since 2016 and has already brought a reduction of 23% in the cost of the input that supplies its units.
In total, 280 of the group's stores are supplied, both through purchases in the ACL (Free Contracting Environment) and through GD (distributed generation).
Regarding GD, there are around 150 units that are part of the model. The plants are located in the states of Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais.
Operations at ACL began in 2016. In this category, there are approximately 130 stores operating, in addition to distribution centers and administrative offices.
