The companies of solar energy operating in the segment of distributed micro and minigeneration have already been responsible for creating more than 800 thousand jobs in Brazil, according to data from ABSOLATE (Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association).

It is a volume what represents more than 70% of the total of 1.1 million in hiring carried out by the solar energy sector since 2012, when the expansion of the source began with the creation of the Resolution 482.

A number of admissions created by own photovoltaic generation also exceeds by more than twice the total number of contracts carried out by the solar centralized generation segment (350 thousand professionals).

Rodrigo Sauaia, CEO of ABSOLATE, explains that the growth of distributed generation in the photovoltaic sector strengthens not only sustainability, but also relieves family budgets and increases competitiveness of Brazilian productive sectors.

“Own generation installed on roofs, facades and small plots of land, directly in urban and consumption centers, also helps to strengthen and bring more resilience to the electrical grid, by concentrating electricity generation close to consumption locations,” he said.

Solar DG grew 35% in one year

In addition to the milestone of more than 800 thousand jobs achieved, data from ABSOLAR indicate that the GD solar in Brazil surpassed the 27 GW mark of installed power, a growth of 35% compared to the 20 GW in the same period last year.

At the moment, there are more than 2.4 million distributed generation solar systems installed in all regions of the country, with more than R$ 135 billion in new investments is collection of R$ 32.7 billion to public coffers capitalized.
