Ceará School is the 17th in the State to receive solar energy

Public Power project foresees the implementation of solar energy in 32 state schools by 2023

Aiming to meet one of the premises of the Government of Ceará, which provides that every public building includes the use of renewable and energy-efficient sources, a series of public schools began to operate in the State with the use of solar energy systems on your premises. 

In September this year, the Doutor Gentil Barreira Elementary and Secondary School, located in the Conjunto Ceará neighborhood, in Fortaleza (CE), was the  17th building of the state public education network to receive the installation of photovoltaic modules.

The ceremony was led by governor Izolda Cela (no party), alongside the Secretary of Infrastructure, Lúcio Gomes; and the executive secretary of Education, Jucineide Fernandes.

The estimate of economy on electricity bills will be approximately R$ 1 million per year. The works have investment of R$ 8.8 million, with resources obtained through the Fiee (Energy Efficiency and Distributed Generation Incentive Fund of Ceará).

Solar energy in schools

The project to install solar panels in state schools is developed by Seinfra (Infrastructure Secretariat) in partnership with the Seduc (Secretary of Education), foresees, by the beginning of 2023, the implementation of solar energy in 32 state schools, distributed in 31 municipalities in all regions of the State. Of these, 17 are already operational.
