A Manaus City Hall (AM) began this Tuesday (17), in partnership with Amazon Energy, The installation in solar energy panels in public schools from the Rio Negro region, a riverside area of the city.
O project intention is to guarantee the development of pedagogical actions and offer a environment of greater quality and dignity for students. In all, eight teaching units and about 500 students will benefit.
“It is an initiative that will reach all communities that previously had no possibility of having access to energy, guaranteeing a better quality of education for all students”, explains Rosa Denise, head of the DDZ (Division District Zonal) Rural of Manaus.
According to City Hall, the Kanata T. Ykua indigenous municipal school, in the Três Unidos community, was the first to receive the technology installation. In the next few days, it will be the turn of municipal schools: Kunyana Putira; Puranga Pisasú; Rui Barbosa; Francisco Diogo de Melo; Good Jesus; São Sebastião and Figueiredo Pimentel.

“For us in schools in rural areas, one of the biggest difficulties we have is the lack of energy. A system like this will allow us, for example, to use the secretariat's computers (with internet access) and carry out all the school administration documentation”, highlighted Raimundo Silva, manager of the Kanata T. Ykua indigenous school.
