Esfera lança marketplace para compra e venda de energia do mercado

Esfera Energia, a company that works with energy technology, management and commercialization, launched the first marketplace in the sector, hud Cotação.

The platform, completely digital and automated, already has more than 130 registered suppliers.  During the testing phase, the tool has already transacted more than 100 average MW per month.

The new feature will be made available for free to the entire market gradually. To guarantee participation, companies need to request an invitation on the company's website.

“In addition to solving an operational pain in the market, because generally both customers and suppliers control things through spreadsheets, the platform also brings more transparency in relation to better prices and facilitates process auditing”, explains Braz Justi, CEO of Esfera Energia.

According to the executive, the platform aims to optimize and automate the energy quotation process, which is a very manual process, still done via email, telephone or even Skype. The main purpose of hud Quotação is to bring together buyers, sellers, demands and proposals in one place.

One of the companies that participated in testing the platform from the beginning was Adecoagro, a company in the agribusiness sector. Paulo Fiordelice, responsible for the company's energy business, highlights that hud Cotação improved its quotes. “”Using the quotation platform added a lot in terms of practicality, in addition to saving more time and agility, it brings security, transparency and greater vision of market positioning”, he states”, he states.

Esfera estimates that today the potential market for using the marketplace is at least 10 thousand actors – companies with the freedom to buy and sell their own energy on the Free Energy Market. The company's expectation is that at least 10% in this market will initially use the platform.

“We worked for eight months on developing the marketplace, focusing especially on the user experience to solve a years-long pain in the energy market for both customers and suppliers” comments Braz.

For the CEO, the customer profile in the energy market is changing and the company is following a line of productization. “We want to increasingly reduce the human interface and have more of an interface of products and solutions that really solve the sector’s problems. The idea is to reduce bureaucracy and simplify the sector more and more”, he concludes.

To obtain a quote through the platform, the interested party will need to fill in information such as the volume of energy they wish to buy or sell, what type of energy and for what period.

The suppliers then receive the order and send their proposals, both by email and via the platform itself. All stages of the negotiation are recorded, which facilitates auditing.
