A JA Solar recently announced that it has begun construction of the first phase of photovoltaic project in 50MW, located on the roof of the manufacturing base of Baotou, in China.

According to the manufacturer, with a investment in RMB 150 million, the system will be built in four phases and is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.

Installed with N-Type modules, from the series DeepBlue 4.0 from JA, the plant is expected to generate 65 million kWh of electricity per year, equivalent to an annual reduction of 54 thousand tons of CO2.

“It has been commented by the local media that the project will become a model in promoting the application of photovoltaic solar energy in the region. JA Solar always adheres to the concept of sustainable development”, they highlighted.

The company also highlighted that it practices the concept of low-carbon development in its operations and has built a green production ecosystem. In February 2023, for example, six JA manufacturing bases were listed on the country's “green factories” list. MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology).

Earlier this year, the company's N-Type products received carbon footprint certification PPE2 from the French authority Certisolis, which indicates that JA Solar is among the first group of photovoltaic module manufacturers to obtain such certification under the new PPE2 standard, demonstrating the competitiveness of N-Type equipment.
