Quinta da Estância's main core business is environmental education for children, young people and adults

A Quinta da Estancia, an international reference farm in ecological and educational tourism, located in Viamão, in Porto Alegre (RS), will receive the installation of a 180 kWp photovoltaic solar plant.

The project is the responsibility of Epcor Solar, a company focused on encouraging the development of renewable energy.

The company will participate in the development of the project, as well as in its execution, with equipment provided by WEG and financing from the bank Sicredi.

“Estancia das Oliveiras will be the first place [in the olive oil agroindustry sector] in Brazil to have 100% of its energy from solar and wind sources. And, for Quinta da Estância, it is another achievement as we complete 30 years”, comments Rafael Goelzer, director of the companies.

“It is a great achievement for our planet. We will significantly reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and the renewable energy plant will have an educational purpose, giving thousands of visitors the opportunity to learn more about combating climate change and generating renewable energy”, highlights Goelzer.

The photovoltaic plant will have installation of 354 photovoltaic modules and the estimated energy to be generated by the sized power, with an annual average, is 20,399 kWh/month.

Mario Morocini, director of Epcor Solar, highlights that the Quinta da Estância project is of great importance for the company and that the installation will contribute to the development of environmental education, serving as an instrument of a pedagogical project, cooperating in raising awareness about the use of energy sustainable and renewable.

“Everything was designed so that solar energy generation completed the broad sustainability cycle in which the Quinta is inserted. We are happy to contribute and do our part for social enrichment and transform these young people into more socially responsible citizens”, he adds.
