Fintech develops platform to meet demands of the solar sector

The online platform should be launched by the end of the month and cover everything from project budgets to equipment sales.

In the first half of 2020, DG (distributed generation) increased by 77,83% in Brazil, when compared to the same period last year, according to data from ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).

With this growth in mind, Jackson Chirollo, Gabriel Terçarolli, Ricardo Saraiva and Mauro André founded Edmond. Fintech aims to serve integrators from purchasing equipment to receiving payments, with tools to automate operations.

The idea for the business came about in mid-March this year when the four entrepreneurs realized that the quarantine caused by the Covid-19 pandemic could negatively impact the solar sector.

By creating a tool for selling and distributing equipment online, the objective is to minimize this impact, adding technology to the work of integrators.

The platform, which should be launched by the end of this month, aims to reach everything from project budgets to equipment sales. The integrator, who can have his brand on the platform, is free to customize his page.

“Our business foundation starts with the App Solar digital platform, which is 100% digital and whitelabel, which allows complete customization with the inclusion of the integrator's brand and visual identity, also allowing the access domain to be the name of the integrating company itself, that is: minhaempresa.appsolar.com.br”, explains Jackson Chirollo, CEO and co-founder of Edmond.

To facilitate payment for all services, Edmond Pay was also created, which should provide machines for cards and payment systems via link or bank slip. Financial transactions will take place through Edmond Bank, a digital bank that will be launched in November and will be integrated with PIX – a new instant payment method created by the Central Bank.

According to Gabriel Terçarolli, co-founder and marketing director at Edmond, all tools are free for users. The company earns through a margin from the sales of digital bank equipment and financial transactions.

He reported that, although the digital platform has not yet been launched on the market, the company has already generated R$ 6 million, due to some test sales of equipment, made with fintech partners.

Terçarolli stated that the expectation is that earnings will double with the launch of the platform. “When we launch the platform and have customers registered to make projects and purchases, we believe we will increase this revenue. The income that came in and took us by surprise last month was the result of work done manually.”

Fintech is still studying some investment funds to, in the future, make loans to integrators, aiming to maintain cash flow and even finance projects.

“This is something that we will not be able to launch now, but we hope that by the middle of next year we will be able to offer credit through our bank, to promote the solar energy market. That's why we are adding platform technology and payment methods with the bank”, concluded Terçarolli.

Also according to Chirollo, photovoltaic systems can be purchased including insurance and protection for integrators and end consumers.

“Total ProtectTotal Protect insurance, for example, provides coverage for one year of the photovoltaic system after installation to the end consumer. The objective is to guarantee safety and protection from any accidents in addition to compensation for lost profits due to the shutdown of the solar plant”, highlighted Chirollo.

Edmond already has more than a thousand integrators. Among them, Emivolt Energia Solar responsible for selling, installing and legalizing solar plants.

“We have Edmond not only as a supplier of excellent equipment and service, but also as a company that offers us tools that facilitate our management, such as the personalized platform, the EDMOND PAY payment system and punctual and organized logistics”, stated the company .
