Fronius follows changes to resolution 482

It is necessary to search for a viable and sustainable solution, respecting the consumer’s right to choose

Fronius is closely following the position of the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) regarding the review of Normative Resolution 482/2012. For the CEO of Fronius in Brazil, Monalisa Gomes, if ANEEL's position is maintained, advances in the photovoltaic market could be harmed, leading to unemployment and company closures, especially affecting small installers in this sector.

ANEEL's position limits Brazilian consumers' access to more economical and sustainable energy, as it reduces the current energy compensation system generated from the current 100% to 38% - according to information from ANEEL and ABSOLAR (Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy ).

Since 2012, Brazilian consumers have received 100% of credits for energy generated by solar sources on their electricity bill. This model is one of the main incentives for the expansion of solar energy in Brazil and investments in the sector, in addition to being an effective contribution to the diversification of the Brazilian energy matrix, which currently depends heavily on hydroelectric sources and is increasingly relying on burning. of fossil fuels.

If approved, ANEEL's proposal will represent a setback for the country. Even with its high incidence of sunlight, Brazil has just over 1% of its energy matrix based on photovoltaic systems. This percentage could remain stagnant or decrease in the coming years with the new proposed changes.

It is necessary to search for a viable and sustainable solution, respecting the consumer's right to choose more accessible energy, whether for their home or business. “We need to unite in a single, objective and assertive chain for the good of the economy and the Brazilian people. The country needs to have autonomy in energy generation”, highlights Alexandre Borin, commercial manager of the Solar Energy Business Unit at Fronius in Brazil.
