A Brazil and the Globe entered into a partnership to create a sustainable parking lot at the broadcaster's studios in São Paulo. The place, which has the capacity to 180 vacancies for cars, there will be five seasons in loading for electric vehicles covered by solar panels, with a power of 536 kWp.

“Guided by maximum energy efficiency and low carbon footprint, the solution developed by Brasol employs a mix of technologies in the 'as a service' modality to be implemented on the client's website, which enables the charging of vehicles with zero carbon emissions, being aligned with the company’s energy transition demands and zero-carbon strategy,” said Renato Prado, Business Development Manager at Brasol.

According to the company, CaaS (Charging as a Service) is customized and exempts the customer from massive initial investments and equipment management, which are the responsibility of Brasol during the contractual period. And when the contract ends, the product remains with the customer.

In this modality, they provide infrastructure, installation of chargers, generation of clean energy from solar sources, operation and maintenance of equipment. “In addition to the practicality of this model, we are living in a moment of transformation in which people are looking for cleaner energy that generates less impact at the same time that the mobility market is expanding”, added Prado.

In the project developed for Globo, the five stations will be available to visitors, employees, service providers and other parking users. The forecast is that such solutions will come into operation throughout 2024.

According to the company, the entire structure will be assembled from a photovoltaic project with the capacity to recharge multiple vehicles sequentially, with a total charging time of between 4 and 8 hours, depending on the model. Brasol's investment was around R$ 4.5 million.

“This partnership reinforces our commitment to the environment and sustainability, in addition to continuing the expansion of our strategy of reaching 100% of our fixed installations being supplied with energy from renewable sources by 2030, an action in line with our ESG Agenda” , declared Mauricio Gonzalez, director of Globo's Shared Services Center.

All the energy generated with the panels installed in the São Paulo carport will be used in the operations of Globo's headquarters in the capital of São Paulo. “If we make a comparison with the number of average Brazilian homes served from the power of the new installation, a total of 345 homes could be supplied,” said Gonzalez.

Globo already has a sustainable parking lot at its Recife plant, in addition to solar energy plants in Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais.
