GoodWe announced news for the energy storage market. These are two new residential and commercial batteries that, according to the company, are capable of automatically identifying battery modules, without the need for parameterization.

“These are batteries manufactured in-house by GoodWe, which, as the world leader in photovoltaic storage solutions, aims to further expand its market share by providing a complete solution for this type of system”, highlighted Alexandre Pereira, the company’s service manager.

“Customers and integrators benefit from the ease of installation, due to full compatibility with our inverters, and now have an integrated support service for the storage system”, he highlighted.

Technical specifications

According to the manufacturer, the first low voltage battery, called Lynx Home U Series, is available in three different devices with storage capacities of 5.4, 10.8 and 16.2 kWh and a weight of 60, 120 and 160 kg respectively.

The dimensions of the first unit are 480x175x570mm, those of the second 960x175x570mm and those of the third 1,440x175x570mm. Furthermore, this product has a nominal voltage of 51.2 V and has a discharge depth of 90%.

The second, high-voltage battery, called the Lynx Home S Series, is available in five versions with storage capacities ranging from 7.68 to 20.48 kWh and a nominal voltage of 153.6 to 409.6 V.

The smallest device weighs 126 kg and has a size of 610x226x1x170mm. The largest weighs 311 kg and measures 1,220x226x1,445mm. The company stated that these devices have a one-hour charge rate.

“Lynx Home batteries have both low and high voltage versions, covering the entire range of residential and commercial systems with single-phase and three-phase storage inverters from GoodWe and also GE”, reported Pereira.

According to the expert, the models also have a BMS system for load management and communication with the inverter. “They are modular and can comprise battery banks of different capacities,” he added.

“Installation and commissioning have become even simpler, as GoodWe and GE storage inverters are already pre-configured, simply connect the power and communication cables to the device and select the battery model used via the app. There is no risk of incompatibility or need for parameterization”, he concluded.
