Government will announce call for research related to green hydrogen

Initial investment will be R$ 100 million for entrepreneurs and researchers

The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation will open a notice for entrepreneurs and researchers of initiatives in the area of fuels and green hydrogen. The value can reach R$ 100 million invested.

Last Friday (20), Paulo Alvim, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovations, revealed during the panel at the Global Carbon Market congress, held in Rio de Janeiro, a new call for entrepreneurs and researchers focused on fuel and green hydrogen .

During the announcement, the minister highlighted that the government is concerned about the issue of hydrogen and has actions aimed at this business.

Alvim was excited about the country's perspective and investment in renewable energy, “This country already practices a green economy and is showing the world how to produce sustainable production. We went from an importing country to an exporting country”, he stated.

He further explained that the government's energy segment is exemplary, despite some difficulties, and highlighted the studies carried out in the green hydrogen segment. 

“Last year we started working and studying the fuel of the future and green hydrogen, we already have a policy and instruments to move forward. Green hydrogen comes to contribute and activate the bioeconomy and will allow for better distribution of clean energy”, pointed out the minister.

The congress was also attended by Joaquim Leite, Minister of the Environment, who stated that the government has worked with integrity and is committed to making the country greener. “We have a Committee and we brought the Ministry of Labor together and this is an innovation and we can now generate green jobs”, added the minister.
