All energy used by Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix this year will come from sustainable energy sources, meeting the needs of BIC (Bahrain International Circuit) throughout the race weekend.
“The rapid completion of the first phase of the Bahrain International Circuit’s solar energy transformation is an important milestone in F1’s goal to be carbon neutral by 2030 and the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Net Zero ambitions,” he highlighted. “Over the coming months, we will continue to make progress on several exciting initiatives focused on further increasing our energy and water efficiency, as well as developing opportunities to expand our solar production,” he added.

“It’s great that the energy requirements for the entire race weekend will be covered by solar energy and shows what we can do as a sporting community to contribute positively to reducing emissions and our carbon footprint,” concluded Domenicali.
According to BIC, in addition to providing energy for the space's lights through a solar source, the project integrated the installation of charging stations electric vehicles.
For the development of the project, Afore inverters were used. "O Afore inverter stood out in the public tender with its excellent quality and stable performance and successfully won the project with an installed capacity of 3,883 kW”, commented the Chinese manufacturer on its social networks.
