The French multinational Green Yellow acquired 90% of the assets of five distributed generation solar plants from FazSol, a company founded by the Japanese Shizen Energy and the Brazilian holding company Espaço Y.

Located in the Brasília region (DF), the plants have an installed capacity of 4.4MWp. With 11 thousand panels installed and in operation since 2020, they produce 7.3 GWh annually. Currently, they supply solar energy to customers in the airports, corporate condominiums and retail chains.

With the agreement, FazSol still maintains 10% of the projects and remains responsible for managing the compensation of credits for distributed generation customers who receive energy from photovoltaic plants.

According to Bruno Suzart, manager of Shizen Energy in Brazil, this is FazSol's first merger and acquisition deal in the country. “We were very careful in looking for a partner with synergy of values before making this decision, and GreenYellow, like us, is a company committed to Brazil's energy transition, and offers the market energy solutions only through renewable sources” , he declares.

Before the acquisition, Green Yellow had more than 40 plants under construction or operation, totaling 124 MWp of installed power. With the new agreement, the French multinational intends to continue its expansion in Brazil.

“This acquisition is a development of our exponential growth plan for the coming years, which includes not only the acquisition of distributed generation assets, but also, from now on, in the centralized generation market”, revealed Fernando Slade, CFO of GreenYellow at Brazil.

According to Roberto Zerkowski, president of GreenYellow in Brazil, the company's growth target is bold. “In addition to using new capital for acquisitions, we are also recycling capital from operational projects, through the issuance of green bonds, for example, which allows us to free up the group’s entire financial capacity for growth more quickly,” he explained.
