A Growatt launched the EV Charger THOR, a new series of chargers for EVs (electric vehicles). The equipment is compatible with cars of all brands for residential and commercial scenarios.

According to the manufacturer, there are two types of chargers to choose from: AC EV (3/7 kW version and 11/22 kW version) and DC EV charger.

“THOR applies white color and arched shapes to create a simple yet modern look. Its front panel integrates a touch screen and a card reading area, meeting customer needs for an optimal user experience,” the company said in a statement.

Furthermore, the company emphasized that the product is integrated with 'GroHome', an IoT system developed by Growatt that allows users to perform remote and voice control, for example.

With the 'ShinePhone' app, users can remotely control and monitor charging status in real time, as well as schedule different charging modes through various connection methods including WiFi, LAN port and 4G.

THOR Loading

THOR supports three different charging modes: fast mode – where EVs can be charged at maximum speed; off-peak, which allows users to charge their electric vehicles outside of the hours when the highest electricity consumption occurs; and PV Linkage mode, which combines with photovoltaic systems.

Security

Another point highlighted by Growatt is THOR's integrated advanced Type A + 6mA DC fault protection, which saves the cost of installing an extra 6mA DC RCD.

Regarding the load balancing function, it can adjust the charging power dynamically, avoiding fuse breakage and power outages.
