A Growatt recently announced that he won the “pv magazine Award 2022” with your APX HV battery. This award, according to the manufacturer, recognizes the new product as a pioneer in the energy storage.

“The company is dedicated to building the world's largest smart sustainable energy ecosystem, and smart home solutions have historically been Growatt's sweet spot,” commented Eckhart K. Gouras, editor and managing director of pv magazine.

“The solution features a modular-level power optimizer, cloud-based battery management and, last but not least, five levels of protection,” he highlighted.

According to the company, the APX HV was launched on the market in December last year, applying a major revolution called Soft-switching Parallel Connection Technology.

The solution, for example, eliminates the effect of power incompatibility between battery modules and allows each to be fully charged and discharged independently, thus supporting modules of different SoC (state of charge) in a system.

“This means easier inventory and distribution management for distributors and greater installation and expansion flexibility for installers,” they highlighted.

“In particular, it removes the pre-charging step required for conventional energy storage solutions and, together with its plug-and-play capability, reduces the efforts and time required in installation, system extension and maintenance for installers and integrators ,” the company added.

Other advantages

According to Growatt, the equipment also features a redundancy design that prevents the system from shutting down due to a faulty module.

“The APX HV system improves safety performance to the maximum by integrating five-level protection, including active BMS for each cell, module-level power optimizer and integrated aerosol fire protection, along with fault circuit interrupter arc and a replaceable fuse to protect the system”, they exemplify.

“Growatt has come a long way since its humble beginnings in Shenzhen just over 12 years ago. It has shipped its products to almost every country on the planet and is becoming a key factor in the transition from a world built on fossil fuels to one powered by clean energy,” concluded Gouras.
