Delta Group raises R$ 250 million to build 20 solar plants

O Delta Energia Group announced, this Friday (17), the capture in R$ 250 million in the capital market for construction in 20 solar power plants in the segment of G.D. (distributed generation) in the states of Mato Grosso do Sul, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, in addition to the Federal District.

O amount he was acquired through issuance of CRIs (Real Estate Receivables Certificates), with the operation being coordinated by Banco Modal and One Corporate.

Luiz Fernando Leone Vianna, Institutional and Regulatory vice-president of the Delta Energia Group, explains that around 40% from the project is already completed, with eight plants ready and another six under construction. 

“Our entry into solar energy generation is a preparation for the total opening of the electricity market in Brazil,” said the executive. 

He highlights that these initiatives they are centered in technology, human Resources It is marketing, in addition to expanding the portfolio, with a focus on retail.

Total demand during the investment capture period was in the order of R$ 737 million, almost three times the initial supply.

“Having a solid and financially robust company at the helm, with more than 22 years of history and experience in the electricity sector, was our biggest differentiator”, assesses Rodrigo Pereira, (CFO) of Grupo Delta Energia.

The operation attracted investors from different profiles, with 66% of orders in the process bookbuilding (the moment in which the price of the asset is defined in the public offering) from institutional investors.

“For a structurally complex project like this, the solidity of the Delta Group was a determining factor for individual investors to also show enormous interest in the paper and for there to be a wide spread of investors allocated to the CRIs.”, says José Álvaro Guimarães, partner at One Corporate.

The paper has a duration of up to eight years and can be traded on the secondary market, a part of the financial market intended for the movement of assets from companies that already have public capital on the stock exchange.
